SINGLE ROOM REQUEST

INSTRUCTIONS
Applications for Single Rooms will be available on-line in the student portal beginning Monday, March 3, 2014. Applications must be submitted prior to 4:30 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. No application will be accepted after 4:30 pm. Once your application has been received and reviewed for accuracy in points, you will be notified whether or not you have qualified to continue on in the single room selection process. You will receive this notice on Wednesday March 19, 2014. Room selection will be held in the Baxter Hall Murray Room at 7 p.m. on, Thursday March 20, 2014 Please note: Students do NOT have to participate in the Baxter Room selection in order to participate in the Single Room selection process.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST
  1. Each student must complete an individual returning student application.
  2. Each student must submit a $60 non-refundable housing deposit. (Exception: students who have lived on campus for six semesters including spring 2014 semester)
  3. Each student should complete the point section as it applies to them.
  4. Calculate the total number of points your group has by using the chart below (do not include judicial points). We will verify your point totals prior to notifying you of your acceptance into the room selection process.
  5. Please choose a contact person for your group. This contact person should be someone who checks their campus mail & email daily.

Points Definitions 1 point for each semester 1 point for each semester in Single Straight Points (EX 3.5 = 3.5 points) Freshman = 1 point, Sophomore = 2, Juniors = 3 points, Seniors and beyond = 4 points
Example: John Doe 20yrs old; 3 semesters on campus; 0 semesters in single; 2.84 GPA; Junior 3 0 2.9 (round to nearest tenth) 3 8.9

*Judicial Record Explanation
-1 point for each minor violation (Community property & space, guest policy, quiet hours, key and guard card policy, restricted areas, solicitation & sales, failure to comply, sign policy)
-2 points for each major violation (Any alcohol violation, pets, smoking, discrimination, fire safety, disruptions or protest, theft, violence, vandalism, drugs, assault, harassment)
-3 plus violations: Residential Life reserves the right to not allow you to live in Baxter, depending on the nature of the violations
