Briar Cliff University offers students the opportunity to earn a Master's degree in human resource Management and nursing.

Master of Arts in Human Resource Management (MAHRM)
Master of Arts in Human Resource Management Web site

The MAHRM is a 35 hour interdisciplinary program encompassing all aspects of the employment relationship. It also reinforces presentation and communication skills which are vital to the well being of an organization.

The courses are designed to provide our students with the resources to positively affect the financial stability of an organization. By emphasizing the importance of human resources within an organization, students will gain the tools and skills necessary to become one of today’s most effective organizational leaders.

Distinctive Features

  • The MAHRM offers students an opportunity to learn the latest trends and new directions of Human Resource Management.
  • The MAHRM encompasses all aspects of the employment relationship, including compensation, benefits, prevailing laws, labor relations, diversity, and the use of technology in the work place. Each course meets one evening per week. We offer flexible acceptance of transfer credit.
  • Financial aid is available for graduate students who attend at least half time.
  • Full-time enrollment is 6 credit hours per term.

The MSN program features preparation in two specialty tracks: The Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator. The program integrates spirituality, faith and values, a strong clinical component, and mentoring by faculty who are master teachers and active in clinical practice, consultation, research and professional nursing organizations.

Distinctive Features

  • We offer flexible acceptance of transfer credit and flexible course formats at our Sioux City campus.
  • In order to provide personal mentoring and excellence in nursing education, enrollment is limited
  • Non-clinical courses are offered in a once every other week evening format with web augmentation between class sessions.
  • Briar Cliff University has a long tradition of preparing practitioners for excellence in health care and many of our over 700 graduates work in advanced practice and leadership roles.
  • Briar Cliff’s commitment to excellence in health science education includes a state-of-the-art skills lab and a cadaver laboratory.
  • Our graduates have a 100% employment rate and routinely are hired for positions of leadership and challenge.
  • We sponsor Theta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, as well as the Centre for Nursing and Health Care Excellence.
  • Financial aid, in the form of loans and/or grants, is available for graduate students who attend at least half time. Forgivable loans are available for both Advanced Practice specialty tracts, with additional support available for nurse educator students who attend full-time.
  • Full-time enrollment is 6 credit hours per term.

Financial aid includes scholarships and grants awarded by Briar Cliff University, the federal and state governments, and private scholarship organizations.
